How to quickly open
a carton sealed with tape?

Opening a carton sealed with tape without additional tools – how to do it?

Usually the package that contains the product is sealed with self-adhesive tape, and we usually do not have scissors or a knife on hand to cut it.

The situation becomes even more troublesome when there is too much tape, or when the shipment has not been packaged in a way that makes it easy to open. In such cases, valuable time is lost in opening the carton and accessing the contents.

Unfortunately, excess adhesive tape in e-commerce shipments is a common problem. It occurs in the following situations:

  • Excessive care: “I’ll wrap the tape three times just in case…”.
  • Poor quality of packaging: “I’ll wrap, I’ll seal it so it doesn’t fall apart.”
  • Lack of systemic solutions, such as:
    a) sealing based on hotmelt and siliconized tapes, ripping tapes,
    b) cartons with automatic bottoms.

What can you do to open a carton sealed with tape without using tools and without wasting time?
TAP suggestion

On the short side of the carton, around the tape we added a perforation arranged in such a way that when we pressed and gently undermined at this point of the carton, a grip (with the tape glued) was formed with which, without using additional tools, we can tear the tape and open the carton.

What do you gain by being a user of TAP protective envelopes in easy-open packaging?

  • If you remove the tape from the bottom as well, and if you take into account that TAP envelope cartons do not contain thermal labels, you are assured that a 100% clean carton, without contamination, will go for recycling.
  • You save time, because you don’t have to “struggle” with the tape or look for tools to open it.
